About

Hello! I’m Adelia—pronounced “a-daily-uh.” Yes, the name of this blog is how you pronounce my name, but it means more than that.

This blog is dedicated to mental illnesses and health, including stories and tips from me and others willing to open up about their experiences. We explore the daily “uhhh…” moments and how to get through them.

When I write posts, I will be coming from my history with depression, anxiety, and ADD. I have a BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment, not psychology, and I want to be a book editor, not a therapist. But writers have to know a lot about psychology to get into their characters’ heads, and when I become an editor, I want to make sure that there are more books that accurately portray mental illnesses to help stop the misunderstandings and stigma. So, no, I’m not a health care provider, but I am here with open arms.

Besides me, my friends and family, all have some experience with mental illness, either they experience it personally or they know someone who does. The articles on here will not only be about how to help yourself through your own mental illness but about how to help others or how to take care of yourself while taking care of someone else.

Since I do deal with my own mental health issues and a life outside of this blog, when I post isn’t always consistent. The goal is to at least push out a Thankful Thursday post each week, whether I write it or it’s a guest post.

Each day of the week has its own theme: Sunday Spotlight, Tips & Tricks Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, and Stats & Facts Saturday. I don’t post on Mondays or Fridays to give myself a break if I need it.

Currently, I don’t have any posts for Saturday, but I have plans for them, and that’s okay. Just as I remind my readers to be kind to themselves, I have to remind myself. This blog is for me too; it gives me a sense of purpose. My readership might hurt a little without a strict blogging schedule, but that’s okay. The goal of this blog isn’t to become internet famous or to make money. The goal is to help at least one person, even if that person is me.

I do want a community to open up on this blog, though. So, feel free to reach out to me through the contact page, social media (@adailyuh), or by commenting on posts. I will try to respond to as many as I can. Please be patient. Please be kind.

If you are interested in writing an article, pitch me an idea through the contact page. I’d love to have guest posts from every kind of person from every kind of lifestyle with any kind of experience with mental illness.

oOo
